How do the top ten mortgage lenders compare this week? 

 

Rates are rising for house buyers this week, below Twenty7tec shares, who are in the lead for the best offer out of the top mortgage lenders. 

The married couple 

A married couple, aged 42 and 44, with two children, are buying a £525k house. £385k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 73.33%, earnings of £85k and £57k

 

2 year fixed 

 

Barclays takes the lead this week, offering £2889.38, a slight increase from Skipton’s offer last week of £2739.62. 

The average of the top ten lenders sits at £2926.05 this week, increasing by 1.75% from last week’s average of £2875.60. 

 

5 year fixed 

 

Virgin Money rose to the top this week with an offer of £2874.83, slightly higher than HSBC’s offer, which sat at £2831.85 last week. 

The top ten lenders have an average of £2887.99 this week, with an increase of 0.93% from last week’s average of £2861.19.

 

The London professionals

 

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, with three children. £1m house. £500k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 50%, both earn £85k each 

 

Mortgage

Barclays secures the top spot this week with the best initial rate of £3730.24, increasing by 4.84% from Skipton’s rate of £3557.90 last week.

The average for the top ten lenders falls at £3779.22 this week, with an increase of 1.23% from last week’s average of £3733.17. 

 

Remortgage

Skipton stays on top with the best offer this week, with a new rate of £3611.20.

The top ten lenders’ average now sits at £3762.60, up 3.47% from last week’s £3636.25 average. 

 

First-time buyers

An unmarried couple, aged 29 and 28, with no children, is buying a £525k house with a £50k deposit from the BOMAD, 25-year term, LTV 90.48%. One earns £85k, the other earns £57k

 

The best offer for a 63-month fixed term rate is now with Skipton BS at £2757.58, a higher rate than last week’s best rate from NatWest at £2562.68. 

 

The average mortgage rate for the top ten lenders is now £2786.83, increasing by 8.22% from last week’s £2574.95.

 

The best deal for a two-year fixed mortgage is with Skipton BS, at a rate of £2888.74, and Skipton BS also claim the top position for a five-year mortgage, offering the best rate of £2757.58. 

 

Couple in their twenties

 

An unmarried couple, aged 28 and 29, on 38k and 32k, who have one child, are looking to buy a house 170k with a 20k deposit.

The best deal of the week comes from Co-Op Bank, offering a rate of £798.7, falling by 1.78% from NatWest’s top offer last week of £812.93. 

The average this week for the top ten lenders sits at £826.84.

 

Single person

Single person with no children after a 190k home with a 60k deposit.

 

This week, the best rate on the market comes from Co-Op Bank, with an offer of £626.92, 12.7% higher than Skipton BS’s top offer of £555.89 last week.

 

The average of the top ten lenders this week is £636.35, increasing by 5.45% from last week’s average of £603.44.
