What are the best offers for house buyers across the UK this week?

Our weekly mortgage market report shows steady decreases across the board from the top ten lenders.

The married couple 

A married couple, aged 42 and 44, with 2 children, buying a £525k house. £385k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 73.33%, earnings of £85k and £57k

2 year fixed 

Skipton remains at the top with a new best offer of £2823.03, down from last week’s £2838.71.

The average of the top ten lenders is at £3001.77, down 0.34% from last week’s £3012.10.

5 year fixed 

The best offer goes from Virgin to HSBC with a new rate of £2978.47 from last week’s £2994.77.

The top 10 average drops to £2983.33 from £3002.26.

The London professionals

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, with 3 kids. £1m house. £500k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 50%, both earn £85k each 

 

Mortgage

Skipton stays at the top with a new top rate of £3653.53.

The average of the top ten lenders goes to £3898.63 from £3918.05, down 0.49%.

 

Remortgage

Skipton stays in the lead, with a new best offer of £3653.53 from last week’s offer at £3676.41.

The average of the top 10 lenders drops to £3876.24, down 0.61% from £3900.35.

 

First-time buyers

An unmarried couple, aged 29 and 28, with no children, is buying a £525k house with a £50k deposit from the BOMAD, 25-year term, LTV 90.48%. One earns £85k, the other earns £57k

 

Skipton holds the place for the best initial rate but with a new offer of £2824.17 for a 64-month offer.

The average of the initial open rates from the top ten lenders dips to £2872.92 from £2893.34 

 

For a two-year fixed mortgage, the best rate returns to Skipton with an offer of £3014.27 from Halifax’s £3023.37.

A five-year fee mortgage remains with Skipton at a new best offer of £2824.17.

 

Couple in their twenties

An unmarried couple, aged 28 and 29, on 38k and 32k, who have one child looking to buy a house 170k with a 20k deposit.

 

HSBC knocks Monmouthshire BS from its top spot with a new offer of £873.33 for a 63-month rate, compared to last week’s £873.95 offer for a 24-month deal with Monmouthshire BS.

Single person

Single person with no children after a 190k home with a 60k deposit.

The best offer stays with Skipton but at a decreased rate of £587.42 down 1% since last week’s rate of £593.39.

The average of the top ten lenders drops from £664.25 to £660.39.
