The latest Mortgage Market Snapshot (MMS) from Twenty7tec shows the mortgage market continued to demonstrate resilience throughout July, with overall search activity remaining steady despite the seasonal slowdown that often accompanies the summer months.
Total mortgage searches increased slightly compared with June, suggesting advisers and borrowers remain active as they navigate an evolving lending landscape. While purchase activity eased modestly, remortgaging continued to gather momentum as more borrowers approached the end of fixed-rate deals and looked to secure competitive products.
The latest data also highlights the continued importance of specialist lending expertise. Searches relating to complex borrowing scenarios, including Joint Borrower Sole Proprietor arrangements, visa applicants and adverse credit, remain among the most common enquiries from advisers, reflecting the increasingly diverse needs of today’s borrowers.
