What’s on the market? This week’s offers from the top ten mortgage lenders

This week’s offers for homebuyers are here, with mortgage lenders continuing to compete to offer the best rates. 

The married couple 

A married couple, aged 42 and 44, with two children, are buying a £525k house. £385k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 73.33%, earnings of £85k and £57k

 

2 year fixed 

Skipton remains on the top with the best price, with the same offer of last week at £2739.62. 

The average of the top ten lenders fell slightly by 0.67% to £2875.60 from last week’s £2895.20. 

 

5 year fixed 

HSBC excels to the top with a new offer of £2831.85, beating Halifax’s offer last week of £2909.65.

The average of the top ten lenders is now £2861.19, falling by 2.03% from £2920.70.

 

The London professionals

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, with three children. £1m house. £500k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 50%, both earn £85k each 

 

Mortgage

The best initial rate remains with Skipton at £3,557.90, the same as last week.

The average of the top ten lenders is now £3733.17, dropping slightly by 0.67% from £3758.65 last week.

 

Remortgage

Skipton remains at the top with the best offer of £3557.90, the same as the previous week.

The top ten lenders’ average now sits at £3636.25, dropping by 0.53% from £3655.95. 

First-time buyers

An unmarried couple, aged 29 and 28, with no children, are buying a £525k house with a £50k deposit from the BOMAD, 25-year term, LTV 90.48%. One earns £85k, the other earns £57k

 

The best offer for a 63-month fixed term rate is now with NatWest at £2562.68. 

The average rate for the top ten lenders is now £2574.95, falling by 1.16% compared to last week’s top average rate of £2605.40. 

 

Taking the top spot this week for a two-year fixed mortgage is TSB, with £2656.55, whereas NatWest secured the top position for a five-year-fixed-fee mortgage with an offer of £2562.68. 

 

Couple in their twenties

An unmarried couple, aged 28 and 29, on 38k and 32k, who have one child, are looking to buy a house 170k with a 20k deposit.

NatWest offers the best deal this week with a rate of £812.93, up by 2.63% from last week’s best offer of £792.03.

Single person

Single person with no children after a 190k home with a 60k deposit.

Skipton BS remains on top, with the same rate of £555.89.

The average of the top ten lenders drops to £603.44, down 0.37% from last week’s average rate of £605.72.
